Settle a debate for me - period and pregnancy?

I think that although the chances would be extremely extremely low, anything is possible I suppose. The thing is that the sperm would have to live long enough inside you to be later fertilized by the released egg which is usually about 2 weeks before your next period. Now, usually sperm can only live 2-4 days after inside you, but I guess anything is possible. Stranger things have happened.
