I'm freaking out that I lost my sense of taste?

For about 6 days now i have not enjoyed the taste of smell or taste. Yesterday i went to the doctor and he just said i was congested due to allergies??? He gave me this stuff to spray up my noise that works a little bit but the taste is hardly anthing at some times. I can't even taste soda! I'm going on a big trip next week where i will be eating at some of the best pig out spots in the nation THIS CAN'T HAPPEN!!!!
